James Boyd Turner, 73, a White County, TN native and resident, passed away October 13, 2018 at Vanderbilt Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Turner was born August 3, 1945, in White County. He was the son of Reece and Ruby Turner.
He was preceded in death by his father (Reece Turner), two brothers (Reece Turner Jr. and Charles Elsie "Billy" Turner), a son (Stevie Turner-Snyder) and a daughter (Tammy Louise Turner).
He is survived by his mother, Ruby Turner of Sparta; his daughter, Jamie (Wally) Rhea of McMinnville; two sister, Paulette (Ray) Pharris of Sparta and Joyce Randolph of Smithville; wife, Teresa Turner of Sparta; six grandchildren, Marla Snyder, Trent Snyder, and Brandy Snyder, all of Putnam County, and Andrew Turner, Jacob (Abbie) Argo and Hope Rhea, all of McMinnville. Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Peeled Chestnut Cemetery with Jeff Turner officiating. A visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home from 10am until 1pm.
