Adger "A.C." Charles Sullivan, age 82 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

He was born May 23, 1941 in Spencer, Tennessee, and he was the son of the late Adger Sullivan and Connie Lawson Sullivan Madewell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Kewin Madewell; siblings, Sara Grimaldi, Evelyn Summerlin, Gwen Youngblood, Ruth Dodson, and Donnie Sullivan; and a great-grandson, JD Hyatt; all whom he loved very much.

Survivors include:

Sons- Mike Sullivan (Denise) and LaVaughn Smith

Daughter- Lisa Sullivan Scott

Grandchildren- Damon Scott, Paige Scott Reed (Lucas), Allan Smith, and Leslie Hyatt Goodwin (Brad)

Great-Grandchildren- Andre Hyatt, Madison Mahan, Austin Rodgers (Mackenzie), Trystin Scott, Ellis Reed, Anniston Reed, and Ezmay Reed, all whom he loved dearly.

A.C. drove a truck, was Chief Deputy of Van Buren County, and worked as a civil engineer for TDOT for 35 years. He won many charity poker games and donated all the proceeds to benefit children. He loved sports of all kinds. To all the children he coached or umpired over the years, you know who you are, he truly loved and enjoyed each of you and hoped he left you better than he found you. He was full of pride and stories over the years. You made him happy with all the hours that were put in together.

He would want to say thanks to Betty Sullivan, Janet Sullivan, special friend, Dorthy Kirby, and special family and friend, Carol and Bruce Stewart. Although times weren't always easy, he loved each of you for taking such good care of him along the way. He also attended North Sparta Church of God.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Tracy Curtis, Wayne Sullivan, and Eugene Cunningham officiating. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM until time of the service at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at a later date.
