Sparta, TN..... Mr. Barry Lynn Brady, age 50 of Sparta, Tennessee, passed from this life on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at his residence. Born Monday, September 30, 1968 in Sparta, he was the son of Wilma Bain Jones and Bill Brady.
Barry lived a life of service to others. His service to God was what he was he was most proud of. He is a lifetime member Gideons International. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sparta where he formerly served as deacon. Barry shared the Gospel with anyone he came in contact with. He wanted to make sure he'd see us all again in eternity.
He was a firefighter and retired as Captain from the Sparta Fire Department on August 31, 2018, with over 31 years in fire service. Barry was the Sparta Firefighter of the year in 1989. He did book sales for the TN Firemen's Association for 20 years. Barry had served as a State Certified Arson Investigator since 2006. He was Explorer Advisor of the Year in 2000. He was President of the TN Firemen's Association in 2018 and received the TN Fire Association's Lewis Baker Award in 2018.
Barry was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the TN Advisory Committee on Arson in 2019, and , in July 2019 , he will receive the TN Distinguished Service Award from the TN Fire Chief's Association.
Funeral services for Mr. Brady will be held 1pm Monday, April 8, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Sparta with Pastor JD Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Walling. Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, April 7th, from 3pm until 7pm at First Baptist Church of Sparta.

mother - Wilma Bain Jones of Sparta
father - Bill Brady of Sparta
brother - Bill Brady and wife Amy of Gallatin, TN
nephew - Clay Brady and wife Kayla of Sparta
great nephews - Andrew Brady, Rylen Brady and Jayden Farley
aunt - Faye Talbert of McMinnville
Barry was preceded in death by grandparents Carl Bain, Ruth Bain and Mamie Tindell.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Gideons International or the Spring Hill Cemetery Fund.
