Mr. Paul Otis Prater, age 77, of Sparta, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born Saturday, July 20, 1940 in Sparta, he was the son of the late Denton Prater and the late Pauline England Prater. Mr. Prater retired from General Shale after 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending time working in his shop.

Funeral services for Mr. Prater will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 20, 2018, in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10am until time of the service at noon.

son - Tim Prater of La Vergne, TN.
brother - Billy Gene Prater and Ada of Sparta
adopted sister - Carlena Walker of Cookeville

brother-in-law -- Olen Ray Brock of Sparta
brother-in-law -- Lynell Brock and Ann of Sparta
sister-in-law -- Dot Brock of Georgetown, Delaware
