Obituary for Herbert Ray Price

Sparta, TN..... Mr. Herbert Ray Price, age 67 of Sparta, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Wyndridge Health and Rehab Center in Crossville. Born Tuesday, September 18, 1951 in Sparta, he was the son of the late Charlie Price and the late Florence Baker Price. He was a lifetime farmer and avid coon hunter.

Herbert attended Lighthouse Church. He made a great decision to follow Christ. As he said, "He got me". He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was a devoted husband, father, and Pepaw.

Funeral services for Mr. Price will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, August 29, 2019, in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Thomas McCulley officiating. Burial will follow in Saylors Cemetery. Military Rites will be presented by the Veteran's Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28th, 4-8 pm at the funeral home. His last ride by horse and buggy will be to Saylor's Cemetery.

Mike and Becky Price
Daughter - Melissa Easterwood and Thomas
Step children that he raised, Brigette Poston and David, Ashley Roberts and Josh, Ryan Roberts and Kenya
Sister - Jeanette and William Stick
Brother - William Price
A very special neice, Rebecca Cunningham "His Girl". Also a very special grandchild, Belle Roberts, " My Baby" as he called her.
Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Price; sister, Wanda Woods; sister, Ruth Ann Sparks and a great grandchild, Jeremiah Ray Price.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy McCulley, Jeff Young, Tyler McCulley, Jay Payne, Jeff Stoglin and Joe Doughtery.

Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Carter, Cody Whittenburg, Barry Cooper, Haskell Randolph and Dewayne Randolph.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Veteran's Honor Guard.
