Obituary for Byron Charles Braud

Byron Charles Braud was born in Gonzales, Louisiana on August 2, 1940 and entered heaven's gates on Monday, December 7, 2020. Byron was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Sparta, TN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert V. "Gill" Braud and mother, Audrey S. Braud.

Survivors include:

Wife- Dorothy (Dot) Corban Braud

Brother- Dwight J. Braud and wife, Judy "Tammy" Braud

Sons- Julius " Ray" Corban and wife Melissa of Gonzales, LA and Eddie Hugh Corban of Jackson, MS

Daughters- Dana Brenn and husband Dowell, Lana Foster and husband, Bob, Dee Ann Tassin and husband, Carey, and Leah Millet and husband, Chance.

Numerous granchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive

Byron enlisted in the National Guard as a young man proud to serve his country.

Byron retired from management of car sales in 2007, and he and Dot moved to Sparta, TN where they enjoyed the peace and quiet of the country life. Byron loved God and serving in the church whenever possible. He adored his wife, Dot, and his family. He loved seeing his large family and their activities when he could.

He was very active throughout his life. Wrestling, football, riding horses, cooking jambalaya with his father were some things he enjoyed when he was young. In his adult life, he loved showing his Champion Boxer and Dot's dog, Gilly. He served as a deacon at FBC, Sparta and enjoyed membership in the Gideons.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Cecil Johnston and Howard Gorter officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Thursday from 10:30 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers to serve are Dowell Brenn, Ken Belanger, David Goff, Greg Boston, Kell Stott, and Jeff Bray

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideon's of Sparta, TN or Hands of Help of Sparta, TN who provide materials for handicapped ramps at US Bank of Sparta.
