David Lynell Brock, 87 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at his residence in Sparta, Tennessee. He was born January 10, 1936, in Sparta, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Brock and the late Sara Hickenbottom Brock. He was married to his loving wife of 66 years, Anna Marvel Brock.

Lynell was retired from Brooks Armer Cars in Wilmington, Delaware where he worked as a security guard. He and his wife moved to Sparta, TN in 2004. From 2009 to 2021, Lynell worked part-time at the Cassville Convenient Center.

Lynell loved hunting with his sons. He also enjoyed going fishing with his brother. He loved putting out a big garden every year. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. He was a member of the Plainview Freewill Baptist Church. Most of all he loved his family and family get-togethers.

In addition to his parents, Lynell was preceded in death by his sister- Willene Dunn, his brothers- Alvin Brock, Howard Brock, Earl K. Brock, Willis ("Mutt") Brock, Olen Ray Brock, and Tony Brock.

Survivors include:

Children- Mike Brock (Linda), Gerald Brock (Janice), and Nancy Deck (Alan)

Grandchildren- James Schmidt, Chrissy Hurley (Bob), Trisha Cobian (Zach), Adam Brock, Jason Stauffer, and David Stauffer

Great Grandchildren- Daren Hurley (Shelby), Erica Hurley, Paislee Brock, Jaxon Cobian, Madison Cobian, Cassidy Schmidt, Hailey Stauffer, and Dakota Stauffer

Great Great Grandson- Dalton Hurley

Sister- Anna Ruth Prater

Sisters-in-Law- Dot Brock, Corena Brock, and June Brock

Niece- Jo Ann Hutchings

Nephew- Timothy Prater

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Gary Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery in the Cassville Community. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services at the funeral home.
