Dorothy Jean Whitson, age 89 of Sparta, TN passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Life Care Center of Sparta.

She was born Wednesday, August 23, 1933 in Sparta, TN to the late Merrill Jackson and Louise Cantrell Klein in White County, Sparta, TN. Dorothy was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Dale Prater, her sisters, Joyce Ann Cantrell, Mary Louise Evans, and her brother, Billy Klein.

Surviving family members include:

Son - Tony Lee Whitson (Shannon)

Grandson - Devin Dale Prater

Step-Grandson - Shawn Micheal Prater

Granddaughter - Lorie Ann Wright (Bryan)

Great Grandchildren - Bailee Macaria, Madelynn Mae Wright, and Silas Blake Wright

Sister - Judy Elaine Klein Primm

Two Brothers - Mickey Klein (Judy) and Jimmy Klein (Shirley)

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers to serve include - Robert Officer, Noble Hawkins, Zane Hawkins, Brian Wright, Silas Wright, and Devin Prater.
