Obituary for Glenn "Sock" Allan Ray
Glenn Allan "Sock" Ray, 79 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Monday, June 9, 1941 in Sparta, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Erbie and Nell Roberts Ray.
He loved tractors and old cars. He enjoyed visiting with his friends every morning at Jose's, and he loved his grand dogs Bo and Rowdy. He was a retired bull hauler and farmer. He is the current co-owner of Northfield Vineyards. He served two terms as County Commisioner, and he attended Cumberland Height's Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Jeremy Glenn Ray and sister, Patricia Brady.
Survivors include:
Wife of 57 years- Diana Massa Ray of Sparta, TN
Son- Mark Ray (fiance Vickie Denton) of Sparta, TN
Daughter- Marty Luna (Mike) of Sparta, TN
Sisters- Rosemary Ray of Cookeville, TN and Debora Green (James) of Sparta, TN
Brothers-in-Law- John Massa of Sparta, TN and Bill Brady of Sparta, TN
Sister-in-Law- Janice Copeland of Sparta, TN
Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Northfield Vineyards Pavilion with Doug Downs officiating. Burial will follow in Ray Cemetery. The family will welcome friends from 9:00 A.M. until time of the service at Northfield Vineyards Pavilion.
Pallbearers to serve: Mark Ray, Kyle Green, Ryan Swindell, Edward Hollingsworth, Darryl Stockton, and Joe Collins
