Jean Ferrell 85 of Sparta, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home.

She was born on December 26, 1935 in Chattanooga, TN. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Dora Francis Hughes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James D. Ferrell, daughter, Polly V. Strickland of Lake Hamilton, FL, and a brother, Chip Hughes.

She was a sectionizer for Donald Duck located in Lake Wales, FL, as well as a homemaker.

Survivors include:

Sons- Oliver A. Ferrell of Sparta, TN and Jimmy Ferrell (Linda) of Cassville, TN

Daughter- Debra Marcum (Jimmy) of Delbarton, WV

7 Grandchildren- Angie (Glenn/Cougar) Taylor, Jamie Marcum, Nancy (Eric) Conley, Amanda Ferrell, Heather Williams, Laura McCellan, and Addison (Haleigh) Marcum

4 Great-Grandchildren- Skylea Taylor, Cross Taylor, Saylor Coleman, Elian Conley, Sierra Williams, and Cheyanne Williams

The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Pearl Presley for helping take such good care of Jean.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Arliss Norris officiating. Burial will follow at the Ferrell residence on Toddtown Road in Sparta, TN. The family will welcome friends on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
