Obituary for Kenneth Ray Smith
Kenneth Ray Smith, 73 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Saint Thomas MidTown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Kenneth was born in Sparta, TN. He was the son of James Hershell Smith and Lora Lee Smith. Kenneth was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of Sparta First Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents
Survivors include:
His wife of 53 years- Carolyn Gay Smith of Sparta, TN
Daughters- Lisa Officer (Bobby) of Sparta and Kimberly Strickland (Jeff) of Mt. Juliet
Grandson- Jake Officer of Sparta, TN
Sisters-in-Laws- Leslie Ludwig and Wilma Gay, both of Sparta, TN
Brother -in-Law- Luther Parsley of Sparta, TN
Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He leaves behind a church family and loving friends as well.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Sparta First Free Will Baptist Church in Sparta with Rudy Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service at the church.
Pallbearers to serve are Russell Walker, Gary McBride, Bud Hickey, Roger Bryant, Terry Steele, and David Mackie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sparta First Free Will Baptist building fund.
