Lester Ervin Cox, Jr., age 62 of Sparta, Tennessee died on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was born May 8, 1960, in Sparta, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Lester Cox, Sr. and Lois Noyes Cox.

Lester served in the National Guard. He loved fishing and any outdoor activity.

In addition to his father, Lester was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Lois Phillips; and his aunt, Elizabeth Cox.

Survivors include:

Daughter- Jessica Pursley (Tony) of Sparta, TN.

Mother- Lois Cox

Grandsons- Silas Pursley, and Josh Pursley

Nieces- Kristy Sherrell, and Tracie Phillips

Great Nieces- Kella Hill, and Ashlee Sherrell

Great Great Niece- Kenlee Hill

Brother-in-law- Nile Phillips.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home Sparta, Tennessee with John Lawson and Howard Gorter officiating. Burial will follow in Big Springs Cemetery, Sparta, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 10:00 AM until time of the services at the funeral home.

Pallbearers to serve include- Joe Hill, Andy Lewis, Jordan Casey, Ken Weaver, Roger Copeland, Kelly Sherrell, and Nile Phillips.
