Murel Dean Allen, 82, of Sparta, TN passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, in Cookeville, TN. Mr. Allen was born on May 1, 1939, to the late William Albert and Tressie McHone Allen in Whitwell, TN. He married his wife on September 30, 1961.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

Wife of 60 years, Joyce Allen of Sparta, TN
Children: Angela Conatser (Ricky), Tracy Newberry (Bill), and Jason Allen (Wendy)
Grandchildren: Amanda Weston (Matthew), Aaron Conatser, Eric Newberry (Samantha), Michael Newberry (Amy), Paul Gibson, Aylinne Allen, Evalyn Allen, Payton Anderson, Jessica Kirby (Chris), and Chase Kinsey.
Great-Grandchildren: Baylor Weston, Beckett Weston, Lilly Newberry, Jacoby Newberry, Zeke Newberry, Orin Newberry, Arabella Gibson, Zoey-Lynn Bittner, and Chole Bittner.

The Funeral Service will be Monday, June 14, 2021, at2 PM at Christian Life First Assembly of God in Sparta, TN with Brent Tevebaugh and Danny Denning officiating, with burial to follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 AM until the time of service at the church.
