Obituary for Paul Edward Bradley

Paul Edward Bradley, age 79, of Sparta, Tennessee went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, He was born November 2, 1943, in Sparta, Tennessee, to the late Charles Roy Bradley and the late Beulah Mae Bradley.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by a daughter, Erin Bradley and siblings: Porter Bradley, Mary Ruth Milligan, Joseph Bradley, Charlie Bradley, Ray Bradley, Virginia Green, Tom Bradley, Bill Bradley, and John Bradley.

Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Bradley;

Children: Paula Bradley, Nathan (Celena) Bradley, Lydia (Tony) Maggart, and Gerath (Amy) Bradley

Grandchildren: Lauren (Tyler) Ballinger, Jonathan (Hayley) Bradley, Hunter (Darya) Kline, Dallas (Keaton) Gooch, Ethan Maggart (fiancé Taylor Allen), Sierra (Stone) Stewart, Dalton Vaughn, Savannah Maggart, Alivia Bradley, McKenna Hughes, Natasha England, Hannah England, and Tyler England.

Great-grandchildren: Raylin Ballinger, Stella Gooch, Rowan Bradley, Copeland Gooch, Madison Kay Ballinger, Ander Bradley, and Caden England.

Siblings: Ronald (Anna Mae) Bradley, David (Sandra) Bradley, and Lola Andrus

Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.

Paul graduated from White County High School (class of 1962) and attended Life Bible College in Los Angeles, California from 1962-1964, he later graduated from Tennessee Temple with a theology degree in August 1971.

Paul Bradley was a U. S. Army veteran, serving from 1964 to 1967.

He was called to preach and was the associate pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Sparta from 1969 - 1971.

Paul served as the Assistant Pastor of a Baptist church in Newtonsville, Ohio from 1971 to 1972.

He served as a missionary in Nicaragua from 1972 to 1977.

He pastored Faith Baptist Church in Sparta from 1977 to 1988.

He pastored Old Bethel Baptist Church in Doyle from 1989 to 1993.

He pastored Johnson Baptist Church in Putnam County from 1994 to 2000.

He pastored Calvary Baptist Church in Sparta from 2000 to 2005.

After his retirement, Paul continued his ministry as a Sunday School teacher and song leader at Valley View Baptist Church in Sparta for several years and then was a faithful member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Sparta for as longs as his health permitted.

Paul's faith was made sight on the morning of February 14, 2023. He didn't just live, he lived intentionally and left behind a legacy that is woven deep in the hearts of many. He was a light that shone bright to everyone that was fortunate enough to cross his path.

2 Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day..."

Funeral Servicee will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2022, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Bryan Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Springs Cemeter. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of the services at the funeral home.
