Obituary for Ruby L. Turner

Ruby L. Turner, 99, a Dekalb County native and White County resident, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at her home after an extended illness.

Mrs. Turner was born April 27, 1920 in Dekald County. She was the daughter of Charlie Luna and Leela (Steel) Luna.

Mrs. Turner was a long-time member of the West Sparta Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Reece Turner), three sons Reece Turner JR. , Charles Elsie (Billy) Turner and James Boyd Turner, five sisters Ann Turner, Pearl Turner, May Robinson, Virgie Lewis and Betty Stacy, 3 brothers Reed Luna, Monroe Luna, Ernest Luna, two grandsons (Stevie Turner-Snyder), Ernie Randolph and a granddaughter (Tammy Louise Turner).

She survived by two daughters Paulette (Ray) Pharris of Sparta and Joyce Randolph of Smithville, 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren & great -great Grandchildren, along with nieces & nephews.

Visitation will beThursday, January 9, 2020 from 5pm-8pm with Funeral Service on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11am. Mrs. Ruby Turner will be laid to rest in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Derrick Coble & Jeff Turner will officiate.

Pall Bearers: DeWayne Turner, Andrew Rodriguez, Wally Rhea, Bobby Newsome, Wayne Lowe, Mike Riley, Austin Reece Bumbalough and BJ Turner.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta will be in charge of arrangements.
