Rufus S. (Bruce) Clemons

March 11, 1934 - August 30, 2020

Rufus S. Clemons, age 86 from White County, passed away Sunday evening August 30, 2020 in Tuscaloosa Alabama.

Mr. Clemons was born March 11, 1934 in the Bon Air Community of White County to the late Willard and Molly Millard Clemons. He had a successful career with NCR. He attended the University of Florida, Loyola University Maryland, The University of Alabama, Tennessee Tech and graduated from White County High School in 1952. He was a member of West Sparta Church of Christ and Cottondale United Methodist Church. He taught Sunday school at their church in Cottondale Alabama which impacted those he ministered. He will be missed by those who knew him for his devotion to God and family. He was married to Barbara K. Rollins Clemons for 65 years from White County who passed December 02, 2017. He had an adventurous spirit for travel. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren that was evident in the way he spoke of his family.

Survivors include his wife Linda Clemons from Cottondale, Alabama, son’s Lynn, Morri, Joe & Brett Morrison and her loving and devoted family. Family and friends will hold a memorial service in Alabama on a later date so those who cannot travel can attend to celebrate Bruce.
Survivors include his three children: Rick (Sue) Clemons of Winter Park, Florida, Ann Vanderbilt of Forest, VA, and Dean (Angella) Clemons of Fincastle, VA.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2020, visitation at 10 a.m. with service starting at 11:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Funeral Home, 1786 Smithville Hwy., Sparta, TN with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. Derrick Coble will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Names of pallbearers. Ryan Stuller, Jason Clemons, Chris Clemons, Grant Clemons, Matthew Clemons, Nicholas Baker.
