Obituary for Sharon Elizabeth Barrow Myers
The Myers family is very sad to announce the passing of our Matriarch, Sharon B. Myers on January 10, 2023 at her home in Sparta, Tennessee.
Sharon and her husband Wayne, attended First Presbyterian Church of Cookeville, Tennessee for many years. She was the Secretary/Treasurer of PEO foundation to help women with scholarships for college. She enjoyed gardening. She played the piano and organ at the Seffner Presbyterian Church in Seffner, Florida. Her vocation as a 5the Grade School Teacher at Buckhorn Elementary School in Valrico, Florida brought her joy, as well as help providing for her family. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Sharon was born November 12, 1939 in Tampa, Florida and grew up in Brandon, a suburb of Tampa. She is survived by her husband Wayne Myers of 28 years. She had four children: Ruth Morton (Mike), Matthew Sandifer (Pam), Wayne M. Sandifer (deceased), and Timothy Sandifer. Her stepson Carl Myers is deceased. Sharon had 3 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, Rev. Michael McLaughlin officiating. The family will welcome friends on Friday from 11:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial and a graveside service will be held at a later date in Limona Cemetery located in Bradon, FL.
