Obituary for Stephen "Steve" Lynn Fowler

Stephen Lynn "Steve" Fowler was born on February 15, 1959 to the late Martha Jane O'Connor Fowler and John Patrick "Buddy" Fowler. Steve passed from this life on December 3, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Steve spent his childhood years being raised in Spencer, TN where he would find a love for cars and working on them. Steve quickly became a Ford man and found his love for the mustang. He would stand and tell you all day long how Ford stood for "First On Race Day."

Then in his young adult years, he would find his way to Sparta and begin work as a full time mechanic where he would pick up the nickname "FowlMonkey" as his friends and co-workers would joke because he was as hairy as a monkey. Throughout Steve's life, he carried many titles: son, dad, brother, pa, uncle, and friend to list a few. Of these, his favorite was Pa to his precious grandchildren.

To know Steve was to love him and his love for life. He loved to be the jokester of the bunch; he carried a love to see other people smile and laugh. He knew how to tell the best jokes and had the most contagious laugh. He would make your soul fill with laughter.

When Steve wasn't working in his garage, he loved to take his boat out fishing. He loved his family time and getting together with those closest to him and enjoying a meal- cooking out, throwing some horse shoes, and listening to Elton John.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Oceia (Caldwell) O'Connor; paternal grandparents, William Clarence and Pauline Fowler; sister, Katherine Bernice Fowler and brother, Alfred Joe Fowler.

Those left to cherish his memory:

Son- Stephen Lynn Fowler II (Tiffanie)

Daughters- Kelly Lynn Fowler and Jessica Williams

Brother- David Fowler (Flo)

Sisters- Michelle Fowler, Rhonda M. Fowler, and Jaime Batson (Jeff)

Grandchildren- Tyler Williams, Kloe Fowler, Abigail Fowler, Lilly Kirby, Alivia Fowler, Isabella Walker, and Caitlynn Pritchard
