Obituary for Terrell Vaughn

Clyde "Terrell" Vaughn, 86, of Walling, TN went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 20, 2019 surrounded by family at his home. Mr. Vaughn was born on June 22, 1933, to the late Captain Rex and Beulah Nell White Vaughn in Cookeville, TN.

Terrell served in the United States Army. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from TN Tech. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 37 years. His lifelong passion was farming. Mr. Vaughn developed and patented Vaughn’s Bermuda Grass. One of his greatest accomplishments was being a Bible scholar and sharing his love of the Lord with everyone. He loved his family, Church family, and beloved Sunday School members. Another passion was music; he enjoyed singing the gospel songs at church and visiting the nursing home.

Terrell spoke often to everyone about the day he would go home. He wore a huge smile on his face and his eyes danced with excitement about meeting Jesus. He will be missed by many, but peace can fill their hearts knowing he is in the presence of the Lord. “This is not our home,” he would say, “we are only passing through and we’ll see one another again!” Terrell Vaughn lived his life as an example of Christ and often said, “People just don’t know how much Jesus loves them.”
