Terry Glynn McCoy, former teacher in White County, passed away at his home in Putnam County. He was 70 years old and suffered from the later stages of Parkinson's Disorder.

He is survived by his wife, Reba Dishman; a daughter, Keely McCoy (and son-in-law, Alan Luboniecki) all of Putnam County. Also surviving him are sisters, Ruth Burks of Ft. Myers, FL, Patsy Pollard (and husband Jerry Pollard) of Appling, GA, and Rita Young (and husband Junior Young) of White County, TN; a brother, Floyd McCoy (and wife Nancy) of Sparta; sisters-in-law, Lynda McCoy of Sparta, TN, Eva McCoy of Auburndale, FL, Rita (and Willard) Norris of Sparta, TN, and Rhonda Jernigan of Sevierville, TN; brother-in-law, Randy Dishman of Cookeville, TN; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe P. McCoy and Lucille Lynn McCoy, by two brothers Gene McCoy and Tom McCoy, and a brother-in-law Rex Burks.

During his life, Terry enjoyed teaching sciences to thousands of eager students. He enjoyed answering the questions put to him by those students. He also liked competing in trivia contests, tennis, golf, baseball, woodworking, reading, "tree-hugging", and genealogy.

Terry has chosen cremation. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family has decided to have a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, Terry requested donations to the McCoy Family Cemetery in the Black Oak Community of White County, TN. The family also encourages donations to the Parkinson's Foundation and The Arbor Day Foundation.
