Obituary for William Mitchell Stevens Sr.
William M. Stevens Sr., 88 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020, at his residence. He was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Stevens of Franklin, NJ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Minnich and Grace Zerbe, and brothers, Jack Stevens, Edward John Stevens, and Benedict Stevens.
William is survived by his wife, Marjorie Wearne Stevens, whom he adored for 69 years, and his son, William M. Stevens and Debbie Johnson.
William enjoyed being retired from the New Jersey Power and Light Company where he was employed for 42 years. He was also discharged from the United States Army. He loved gardening and traveling.
William will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The family has chosen cremation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
