Wilma Faye Smith, age 94 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born Monday, May 6, 1929 in Sparta, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late John and the late Lena Hedgecough Rice.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Smith, and her brothers John B. Rice, Jr., and Donald Earl Rice.

Surviving family members include:
Brother- Malcolm Kyle Rice (Bernadette) of Memphis, TN

Niece- Connie Sparkman (Robert) of Myrtle Beach, SC

Several other nieces, nephews, many friends, and neighbors also survive.

Faye was a long-time cosmetologist serving the people of White County. She attended West Sparta Church of Christ which she considered to be her special church family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home located at 1786 Smithville Hwy Sparta, Tennessee 38583 with the Bro. Derrick Coble officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at the funeral home.
